Community Christmas Celebration

On Sunday, December 16, 2012 First Church of Christ, Scientist, Edmonton welcomed the whole community to a celebration of Christmas music. The hour-long event began with a short concert of familiar Christmas selections presented by the musicians of the church, Judith Richardson, soprano and Kirk Kryvenchuk, piano and organ, with guests Ron Long, tenor; Rebecca Schellenberg, violin; and Carolyn and John Lambert, soprano and baritone. Music featured was by composers Handel, Rutter, Bach, and Pietro Yon, as well as arrangements of traditional Christmas carols. Following the concert everyone had a chance to request their favourite carols as the audience joined the performers for a carol sing-along. Refreshments were provided by members of the church.
